Lawmakers gave professional orders certain responsibilities, including their main task of protecting the public.<\/p>\n<p>This led to the creation of the Quebec professional system\u2019s two major bodies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.opq.gouv.qc.ca\/accueil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Office des professions du Qu\u00e9bec is the government agency that ensures each professional order fulfills its mandate to protect the public.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/professions-quebec.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Qu\u00e9bec Interprofessional Council represents all the orders and liaises with the government on their behalf.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"padding-top padding-bottom\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2326 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/stage.oppq.qc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Syst\u00e8me-professionnel-Site-Web-640x427.png\" alt=\"\u00c0 propos de l'Ordre : Syst\u00e8me professionnel - Site Web\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Currently there are 46 professional orders that represent over 380,000 Quebec professionals, including Ordre professionnel de la physioth\u00e9rapie du Qu\u00e9bec, founded in 1973.<\/p>\n<p>The former Ordre professionnel des physioth\u00e9rapeutes officially became Ordre professionnel de la physioth\u00e9rapie du Qu\u00e9bec (OPPQ) when physiotherapy technologists (PRTs) joined the organization in 2003.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"button button--arrow\" href=\"https:\/\/stage.oppq.qc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Declaration-de-services-2019-01-26_VF.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You may consult the Citizen Service Statement<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ordre professionnel de la physioth\u00e9rapie du Qu\u00e9bec (OPPQ)\u2019s primary function is to protect the public by ensuring its members provide quality services.
